Gaining Strength with
Although Christian Women’s Job Corps is open to any participant regardless of religion, we do require that all volunteers adhere to our Statement of Faith:
We believe in the Trinity, God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the Bible as the Word of God. Salvation comes through grace by believing in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, our Savior and Lord. Once saved, the Holy Spirit indwells, thereby instructing, guiding, and empowering the individual to follow the mandate of Jesus Christ in daily living.
We are a Strength-Based Ministry
This ministry is not about “fixing” what is wrong with our participants. CWJC is about change and we want to empower our participants to make the changes necessary to reach their goals. We believe that each person has the capacity for change and growth by way of the Holy Spirit which requires us to focus on their resources: talents, goals, and experiences. Nevertheless, CWJC is NOT a Deficit-Based ministry that focuses on problems and weaknesses. We are a Strength-Based ministry that focuses on the person’s resources that will guide them to achieve their goals. We will always seek the Lord in prayer in regard to enacting a Strength-Based strategy.

SERVE AS A LUNCH PROVIDER
Each class day, CWJC will provide lunch on site for the participants. We will need groups to bring lunch as a way to minister and have fellowship with women in need. Please contact our Meal Coordinator.
SERVE AS A VOLUNTEER TEACHER
Men and women are needed to teach classes such as Bible Study, Basic Computer, Money Management, Health and Nutrition, Communications, Interpersonal Relationships, Conflict Resolution, Boundaries, Anger Management, etc.
“Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever.” Psalm 86:11-12
SERVE AS A CHRISTIAN FRIEND
Many of the women who will attend CWJC may be unfamiliar with the Word of God, for this reason we are still in need of Godly women to help walk alongside them through this process and follow up with them about their progress after graduation. Give someone a fish and feed them for a day, TEACH someone to fish and feed them for a lifetime.
The term “Mentor” will no longer be used and will instead be replaced by the title “Christian Friend.”
The purpose of a Christian Friend will be to walk alongside each student rather than to lead the student.
Christian Friends will be asked to indicate their strengths in the areas of spiritual, practical/career and relational skills. The students will then be asked to identify their needs within these areas for an ideal match with a Christian Friend.
Matching of Christian Friends will be held during our Marvelous Monday.
It is advised that Christian Friends periodically come by the site to meet, encourage and have fellowship with the students. It is our hope that we can facilitate an environment conducive to trust building and openness between the students and Christian Friends.
Each Christian Friend will be paired with one student during the 15-week session.
A Christian Friend will take on the role of 1) encourager, 2) prayer partner, 3) listener and 4) friend.
Christian Friends are given a list of resource books that may aid them during their time with Christian Women’s Job Corps.
Christian Friends are required to attend CWJC Volunteer training, Marvelous Monday and regular Christian Friend meetings during the session.
