Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14 - 16
Woodmont Kids ministry has chosen the theme "Lite Brite" for the 2021 - 2022 school year. Our purpose is to have scripture that drives us for the year as our ministry equips parents and volunteers to point children to Jesus. Obviously as you search scripture the theme of light and darkness is traced from the beginning to end. Our three key verses for the year have been chosen to coincide with Woodmont as a family of faith on mission.
As a Family - Psalm 119:105 - The Word of God as a light and a lamp. We've chosen this verse to drive the way we interact with families as we prioritize Bible skills and Bible memorization. We partner with parents by giving them tools and resources to disciple their children according to Deuteronomy 6.
Through Faith - John 8:12 - As Woodmont exists to make disciples of all nations the primary purpose behind everything we do is disciple making. We pray that children will be drawn to the Lord Jesus by grace through faith. We hope they will follow Jesus and walk in light for all of their days.
On Mission - Matthew 5:14-16 - In all we do, we encourage children and families to be mission minded so that others might see the good deeds and give glory to their Father in heaven.
Please pray for all of our parents, kids, and volunteers as we work to make this year intentional and full of light!
